The Experience

Moved through the muddy trenches of pain

Swam through its dark murky waters

Exposing it to light

To ultimatley gain

Freedom

Removed it from the unconscious shelf

Reviewed its package contents

Boxed it up

Shipped it out

Couriered it express

Sent it up to a higher plane

Blessed

Gained

Stellar strength

Knowledge vast

Wisdom deep

It is I the AM

At last!

Ready to soar

Start button pushed

Engine now roars

Love exudes through glowing unblocked pores

Ready to fly

Creatively

Play

Laugh

Smile

Cry

Only tears of joy

Now

Ready to take A bow!

The Healing Power of Presence

Meditation GroupWhat does present moment awareness have to do with manifesting happiness in your life? Fortunately, it has everything to do with it! This may sound obvious, but if we stop and consider for a brief instant, all our future moments originate from this present moment. By being mindful of the present moment, it allows us to recognize the power and excellence of NOW.

When we are in the present NOW, we are nowhere else. In presence there is awareness, the only way not to be present is to think your way out of ‘now’. In my practice, I have found an interesting correlation, individuals that allow their minds the constant free reign of thoughts to the illusions of the past or the infinite future possibilities, find it very difficult not only to be calm and focused, but find it extremely arduous to communicate what makes them happy in their life. These individuals are in a constant state of seeking and not being.

“If we aspire for a future with moments filled with abundance and happiness,
it’s imperative we find a way in the present moment to feel abundant and happy,
for this is how the Universal law of attraction works.” – Vivian Osal

It’s reasonable to say that stepping into ‘happiness’ is easier said than done. We must recognize that if we are inclined to bring more joy into our lives, it will require refining our beliefs and habits that are in contradiction to our desires – some that are deeply ingrained into our being. By aligning ourselves in the trajectory of living a brilliant life, we move further and further away from deep-seated beliefs and habits attached to pain and fear and closer to joy and freedom. Not an ‘easy’ task, but when we take a look at the alternative, realignment for the benefit of more bliss makes unquestionable sense.

To experience the healing power of presence and the many resulting benefits, it requires us not to run away from the dreaded fear of silence. It is in this silence, we are able to appreciate without distraction the magnificent beauty that is within us. Mindfully observing the present here and now, brings us to the truth that the Now is the only thing that absolutely exists. Be present when you brush your teeth, pour a glass of water, speak to your friend, wait for the light to change at the intersection etc. Cultivate present moment awareness in all your moments.

The simplest technique to anchor you to the present moment is to become aware of your breathe. Begin by becoming aware of your body’s automatic function of breathing in and out. You can try it right now; observe yourself breathing the next ten breaths. Any thoughts that may enter your mind, just watch them come in and drift away. Be a witness only to your breathe without the critical factor of expectation, judgment or attachment to what you are experiencing. Nothing is more important in this very moment than being mindfully present with your breathe.

I have created a five minute meditation to guide you through present moment awareness. Listen to it when you get up in the morning, before your go to sleep or anytime during the day you have a few quiet minutes and begin to powerfully reprogram how you experience moments in your life.

The Tree by Laura Crawford

There is a tree on my street,

That is majestically beautiful.

Its trunk is thick and warm,

And although it is solitary and stationary

Somehow, it reminds me of a grandmother’s hug.

Love.

It illustrates the effects of time, wrinkles shown in the roughness of the bark.

Lives transcribed in the gnarls of the body.

The type of beauty only wisdom and experience offer.

The branches stretch out, tapering at the ends as if they were fingers trying to reach out to people. Absorbing whatever negativity it can and projecting all the love possible for a tree. The tree is trying to wake our hearts, the hearts that have become guarded to cope with the pain of past experience.

We do not speak the language of the trees, yet on any given day in any given mood I would approach that tree – the backdrop of the sky illuminating its presence.

The wind blows, rustling the leaves as if to create a whisper.

There are no words, and yet I can feel the tree telling me something.

I can feel it in my soul.

What is it trying to tell me? This is not to be asked, for the question takes magic away from the experience. The tree is suggesting only one thing.

Look inside. Look inside. Look at the beauty, the light, the perfection that you are.

At that moment nothing else matters.

Oneness. Connectedness.

This beautiful, magnificent, wise old perfect being is trying to mirror you so that you may see. So that you may remember. Remember who you are, and who you are meant to be.

This message, which even our most loved ones have not been able to communicate to us, is a gift to be applied to our lives. But is this the only reason the tree captivates our attention? No. This tree with its beautiful tapered branches, its elegant fall of leaves serves to teach us more.

We all wear makeup or clothes or accessories to show who we are, or who we want to been seen as. Are we trying to draw attention to ourselves or trying to hide?

Perhaps both.

So this tree shows us more.

The branches and leaves were like waves of ringlets falling softly, framing and highlighting the beauty of the tree. The natural beauty that few possess, or perhaps that few allow to be seen.

The men came. They chopped branches to stubs. They stripped her naked, removing her leaves and carelessly tossing her wood to the ground.

I was there. I saw it happen.

Feeling helpless I held back tears and sorrow for my beloved tree.

And as the stoic beauty that she is, she allowed it to happen. She gave her wood and leaves to the men, allowing them to take what they wanted from her. Did she do this out of kindness, or a compassionate level of understanding? Maybe.

From this experience she is able to teach one more lesson before winter.

Her message is available to anyone who looks, who truly looks at her.

At first glace it looks “ugly”. She is different than the others on the street.

She is wood.

Sharp-edged harsh wood.

But if you look closer you see that she is even more beautiful than before. By removing the makeup, the pruning, the leaves that shade her – you see her.

You see her.

Naked and strong. She allows her strength to be shown

She does not ask, she does not take,

She gives.

She makes the best of her situation.

But most of all, she lives and she lives unapologetically.

Now I can really see her wrinkles, see how wise she truly is. I can almost feel all that she has seen.

The births,

The deaths,

The laughter,

and

The tears.

They have become part of her and she wishes to share that.

One day I will be that tree.

“Happy Pill”

There are times we would do almost anything to find the ‘happy pill’, to instantly relieve the pain in our life. Fortunately, there is no ‘happy pill’. There are times that life requires us to go deeper, in order to see what is keeping us in the pain and separating us from joy. The list of issues that troubles us can feel endless, issues around our family, friends, intimate partners, financial issues, careers, weight etc. It can be overwhelming and particularly when there are a number of concerns we are suffering through at the same time.

In my 10 years of practice, I have learned there is a common thread that runs through most of the pain in our lives. Once we begin to peel away the reasons why we are not ‘happy’ with our lives we come to discover that at the source there is a disconnect between who we are or who we believe we are and who we wish to be. Coming to a place of happiness is ‘easier’, more fulfilling and with a quicker turnaround time when we recognize that as humans we are made up of body, mind and spirit. When we align these parts of who we are, we can experience genuine progress.

“Come to peace with the past,

live in the present, create your future” Vivian Osal

It is critical that we acknowledge where we are with a particular issue – the truth and nothing but the truth. That’s right, we may be able to fool others, but at the end of the day if we continue to fool ourselves we will miss out in the opportunity to honestly initiate positive life changing shifts. Once our starting point is identified we then can move into examining our beliefs and actions that actually support our current unhappy situation. This means that we then move into taking personal responsibility for our part in creating, supporting the discontent in our lives, by doing this we empower ourselves into taking responsibility for lasting change.

The actual process is simple, bring awareness to thoughts, feelings and actions and ensure they are aligned with the person and life that we want to create. By being aware of how we experience and support the unhappiness in our life we are then able to set the wheels in motion to experience life as we desire it. Yes, what I am talking about requires action, there isn’t a ‘quick fix’, there is always some process, journey that we must go through to experience the change we aspire to. We can in this instant choose to continue to feed pain or we can in this moment cross over from that stagnant perception and choose Happiness.

If we have been very emotionally connected to a life situation that has prevented us from achieving our hopes, it can be difficult to clearly see what our obstacles are and what is necessary for us to adjust in ourselves. It is at this point where we may consider working with someone that will assist in sorting through the layers that have compounded our current predicament. A non-partial outsider, not emotionally connected to our particular situation can be the best possible guide to get assist us to become clear.

New Study Using Guided Imagery (Hypnosis) for Prenatal Stress

Researchers from University Hospital Basel in Switzerland compared the immediate effects of brief guided imagery and relaxation exercises – two active and one passive 10-min relaxation technique – on prenatal stress in a randomized, controlled trial with 39 healthy pregnant women.

Subjects were assigned to one of two active relaxation techniques, progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) or guided imagery (GI), or a passive relaxation control condition.

Measures were self-reported relaxation on a visual analogue scale (VAS); the State Anxiety Inventory (STAI-S); scores on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis (cortisol and ACTH); and sympathetic-adrenal-medullary (SAM) system activity (norepinephrine and epinephrine). Additionally, measures were taken of cardiovascular responses, such as heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Scores were measured at four points before and after the relaxation exercise.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation and the control conditions were not as effective as Guided Imagery, which was significantly more effective in enhancing levels of relaxation. Together with PMR, GI was associated with a significant decrease in heart rate.

Within the groups, passive as well as active relaxation procedures were associated with a decline in endocrine measures except epinephrine.

Data indicates that guided imagery was especially effective in increasing self-reported relaxation in pregnant women and reducing heart rate.

So ….how about spreading the word about using hypnosis for prenatal stress reduction !!!

The Clearing

My body is showing signs of extreme fatigue.
No choice but to continue moving through the heavy bush.
The ground is unstable – I keep slipping, I look down at my feet – the mud has formed a second skin.
Mind is racing…..then quiet …..racing again…..jumping through different veils.
I can see it all happening from the inside and I can see it all happening from the outside – shifting visions are keeping me safe.
“Lead the men to safety, lead the men to safety, lead the men to safety, lead the men…..”
I’m so tired, on the move for four days.
“I know where I am going………. where am I going?”
I remember feeling hungry yesterday, today I don’t feel my body from my throat down.
Heart racing loud, thundering in my ears ….. ohhhh delirious fear.

“STOP WALKING!”
I look back, all the men are GONE!!
My eyes are frantically scanning, I whisper, “where are they?”
I scream and a jolt goes through my body …. I’m spinning …. then back in myself.
I sit on a trunk of a fallen tree.
It’s getting quieter.
I stare and in front of me is a clearing and I see it all…..
The men, there were five of us, now only me.
I look down at my chest and my clothes are splattered with blood, evidence, memory of the men killed.
How did I survive?
Why did I survive?
I look at my hands, just two surface wounds, already healing.
The memories hit me like a waterfall and I cascade down to the soft earth.

Live Your Truth

A couple of weeks ago I had a client, let’s call him David, contact me to make an hypnosis appointment, he shared that he had been in talk therapy for about a year and his therapist suggested he might try using hypnosis to stop his compulsion to lie. The habit of lying about small and big things was affecting his relationships, particularly the intimate relationships in his life. David had come to the end of his rope, ready to take responsibility and change.

I must admit I was very excited to start working with David, he is the type of client that I want to see in my office – individuals who are sick and tired of being sick and tired with their situation and ready to CHANGE. During our pre-talk, I learned a bit about his family structure and an overview of his intimate relationships over the course of his life. There was a theme emerging, I didn’t mention anything but I was very curious to see what would his subconscious mind show as the source.

I guided David into the Ultra-Height® hypnosis state, taught to me by Gerald Kein. When I regressed him to the cause/beginning of his lying, there came forth this young voice, David as a little five year old boy. He lied to his mom about spending money on a toy from the change that was left over from the milk money, this was a very emotional experience for him. I guided the adult David to work with the little boy, comfort him and apologize to his mom. During this process he experienced the bad feelings that he felt for lying, but he also experienced the great pride when he went back and apologized to his mother.

Fast forward a couple of years in the regression and David came to another major event where he lied to his mother again. He had been chasing the family dog inside the house and in the midst of running around David knocked over his mom’s vase. When she confronted him, he blamed his dog of breaking the vase, but his mom was insistent, she knew that it was not the dog. He defended his position, even though he knew it was him who did it. Again, David experience the pain of the event and I guided him to speak to the seven year old and together go back to his mom and apologize and take full responsibility for what he did and for getting angry at her for not believing him. Once that event was resolved we moved forward in time again, this time David experienced being on the receiving end. His father lied to him about what had happened to the family dog. This was a deeply painful for David to experience this event, but he was able to recognize that all the lies that he had told were also very painful to the special people in his life. Once we finished the regression I spent time in direct suggestion and had him model truthful ways of being.

There were many powerful feelings during this session; once he was emerged he felt the tremendous weight that had lifted off his shoulders. David was radiating, smiling from ear to ear, he said he could feel something very different inside of his body and mind, a significant shift. He was so excited to leave my office and starting living his life from a place of pride, confidence, self-respect and truth.

Dec 16/09:
Message received from client:

“Good morning Vivian,
I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the session and services, you have helped me tremendously I feel I have a more positive outlook on life and I haven’t had any urge to lie about anything. Thank you.
PS. it was also a great pleasure to meet you.”

Presence

Come and listen to the song of the sea . . .
Freedom will be.
Searching for the proof to make it real . . .
Listen to the song in your heart and it’s waves
will ripple through your being of Love.
Trust the simplicity of the grain of sand.
Watch without talking.
Listen without moving.
Be in the I am That I am

Uriel’s Gift for Miranda

Miranda had been very focused for the last couple of years on regaining her self worth after fleeing an extremely abusive relationship. In the past year that I have known her, I had seen an remarkable positive shift, yes her journey for periods of time were a constant uphill, but she didn’t allow herself to stay in those low moments for too long. Miranda was determined and kept her eye on her goal – heal herself so that she could once again be of service to others. Miranda intention for her sessions was to clear.

It was during Miranda’s second Reconnective Healing session that one of the most incredible physical manifestations that I have witnessed occurred. Shortly after I started the session I was given the message that Archangel Uriel was present in the room, I remember stopping what I was doing and I opened my eyes. It was strange, as if the room was filled with midst, cloudy – I looked around and everything in the room looked softer, all the angles were rounded and there was also a profound sense of calm and peace. I closed my eyes and continued with the session.

When I finished, I gently tapped Miranda’s shoulder and asked her to slowly open her eyes, I stood back from the table and leaned against my desk waiting. I shared with her the experience that I had with Uriel coming into the session and the feeling in the room, she was thrilled to hear of it. Miranda continued to talk and from the corner of my eye I caught sight of a feather on the ground in front of me. I looked straight down, I could not believe my eyes – there was a large, fluffy 2-inch white feather in front of me – I bent down, picked it up and showed it to Miranda. We both stared at one another with big smiles – she told me that at the beginning of the session she had asked for a sign and this was IT! Really, there was no explanation for the feather being there. I would have walked over it several times during the session, I would have seen it when I first walked into my office, my floors are dark and this was a large pure white feather. This feather did not appear on the floor until the end of the session.

This was a beautiful and confirming experience for both Miranda and I.
